London Roller Derby is in dire straits following the closure of our home venue Bridge Park Community Centre in Stonebridge.
Unfortunately finding available suitable venues has always been a struggle for us and so we are desperately seeking help in finding an alternative!
Size
A roller derby track takes up a sizeable amount of space and so not every hall will be able to safely fit (Nobody wants to go flying into a wall on roller skates!)
The minimum safety clearance room is 10,000 square feet or around the size of a basketball court!

The challenge
Unfortuantely being a flat surface isn’t the only requirement for the floor.
Polished concrete or wooden sports hall type floors are great. However spongy or lino type floors are not! Trust us, its like skating through treacle… yum though!
We have skaters travel from all over London and its outskirts and so need good transport links in walking distance of the hall.
Even if we find halls that fit the above criteria, availability is a big problem, with most places committed with longstanding block bookings.
We ideally want to replace our Bridge Park days/times which we Thusday evenings 8-10pm and Sundays 12-5pm but can be flexible with that if needed.
